A collaboration with sculptor General ZOD on a 6meter tall festival landmark near the main stage. Contributed 40+ metres of led lighting plus numerous light fixtures all controlled by live custom software for the 4 days of the festival.

“Located within close proximity to the infamous Barry’s Bait Shop, ‘Project lightSeed’ continues the nautical theme with a splash of playful interaction.
Bright naval periscopes sprout from the soil, suggesting an inquisitive existence below, peering above to observe festival happenings. Stripes of coloured light illuminate the space from above, animated with complex wave-like motion.
While festival-goers stumble with their sea-legs, they are reminded that they exist in the space between the surface and the sky. What stories are to be told from above and below?”

Exploring the potential for managing real-time audio-visual projects through custom software interventions and reviewing designs, in real-time, in the Unreal Engine 4.
The software is written with C++ in OpenFrameworks using a collection of open-source tools to manage various media in real-time and then send them to the UE4 environment using Spout and NDI protocols.
The design interventions are supported by a written research thesis and were on display at the 2017 RMIT Industrial Design Graduation show.
